The only movie that I have watched and was nominated for the best Drama in this year's Golden Globe is Slumdog Millionaire. I really loved it.

 

An Indian friend recommended it to me a couple of months ago and invited me to watch it together. I was on another appointment that night so couldn't make it. But later on, I realized that it was on Landmark's playlist for months and was still going strong, which made me curious about what's really going on.

 

The only Bollywood style in the movie is toward the end when showing the credits, there is a big group of Indian dancers. Other than that it's a personal journey about a slum boy who unintentionally won a million dolloars in a game show. Sounds pretty easy... the truth is every journey is twisted with joy, anger, anguish, despair, and hope. You are who you are because what you have been. And one thing exactly reflect what I believe is:

 

 

 

旧的一年还没有来得及总结，新年的第一件事就是买车。Saturn是我的老大，Altima是老二。我本来指望老二可以用到博士读完，现在严格来说读完后的转型期阶段，老二就挂了。算算也该，毕竟156K的高龄了。找了个amigo乐呵呵的说卖给我一百五，我给她装个新发动机。人现在开的是窗手柄随便一摇就断的车，这么个生意到面前怎么会不要。

 

既然是小三，就不要买大车了。开Altima这么多年，彻底对family car没有了兴趣。第一要点就是driving fun。试了几辆车，在预算范围内，最终选了VW GTI。试车过程大致就是我试的第一辆车，一开就喜欢，后面的几辆再都没有这个感觉。当然，如果这次我要买大车，那我觉得三万以内，subaru forester是最佳。在这么不景气的情况下，拿着offer去贷款，看车，大家都对我非常热情。客套归客套，该做的research还是要做，该杀的价还是要杀。反正也不是第一次和dealer做生意了，这次就最后故意晚点去，这样大家都不用磨蹭一天讨价还价上。最后，Santa Monica的黑夜里，黑色四门的小三轰鸣出了dealer门。
